1. Knowledge - Information is key. Whether our employees or regular partners, years of experience give us the knowledge to call ourselves experts in the field. There is nothing that at least one of us has not seen.

2. Preparedness - Possessing the knowledge to handle any situation or curveball renders us prepared for all of your needs from A to Z in addition to new and developing opportunities.

3. Experience - Having done something once or several times neither makes you an expert or experienced. At HGL our employees have years upon years of practice at their given crafts: from Project Management and Field Supervision; to Accounting and Business Development; and Operations.

4. Loyalty - Not only do we work well together and encourage everyone’s input within and between HGL offices; we enjoy tremendous rapport with our vendors (bonding to subcontractors) and attack work from a team perspective. We value our supply chain and celebrate these relationships once per year at our annual HGL Banquet.

5. Competency - This is what has allowed us to grow from a $300,000 company to over $22,000,000 in a short period of time as construction companies go.

6. Relationships - No matter how competent or experienced one is the human factor always drives the process and we do not take this lightly. It is business but it is also nice to enjoy your work. We like coming to the office.

7. Our People - At HGL we believe we are no better than our people. We choose carefully who we hire based on competency and character. This is evident given the great diversity of interests, backgrounds, ethnicities, and educational levels. Our office is not a click of our buddies but is a mosaic of carefully picked players who work well together and respect one another.

8. Our Customers - We will not take just any job. While it is true we are more likely than to accept unsolicited work than not, most of our work is solicited via a pretty solid customer base and the bidding process. Construction by definition can be a risky endeavor. Increasing that risk through volatile entities or individuals is not something we take great interest in doing. As much as possible we like knowing what to expect and so do our customers.

9. Safety - Our record is immaculate and we have been recognized over and again for as much.

10. Character - We do not fly banners, have motifs around the office, and make others feel uncomfortable. However, this company is led by God Fearing people who put God first and run HGL in accordance with the same principles as running their own lives.
